The Dingmans Creek Trail
The Dingmans Creek Trail is a 0.4-mile one-way trail that leads to the base of Pocono Dingmans Falls. The path is relatively easy and can be completed in about 30 minutes. It’s great for the entire family, including young children.
The trailhead for the Dingmans Creek Trail is located at 224 Dingmans Falls Rd. The trail starts near the Dingman Falls Visitor Center, which is clearly marked.
The first part of the trail winds through a dense forest of trees. The forest provides shade and shelter from the sun and wind. After a short distance, the trail crosses Dingmans Creek on a wooden bridge.
At the bridge, a tall waterfall, spanning almost 80 feet, known as Silverthread Falls, is located on your right side. As you continue down the path, you’ll walk near the edge of the creek, where you’ll have views of small waterfalls and cascades.
The path then leads you to a set of stairs that takes you down to the base of Pocono Dingmans Falls, the second tallest waterfall in Pennsylvania. The falls plunge over 130 feet into a large pool of water. Make sure to soak up the waterfall by relaxing on one of the benches available or dipping your feet in the refreshing pool at the base of the falls.
