Pocono Speedway

Pocono Speedway

The Pocono Speedway is one of the most popular tracks on the NASCAR circuit and has been host to some of the most memorable races in history. As one of the last remaining superspeedways from the golden era of stock car racing, it’s no wonder that hundreds of fans visit the Pocono Speedway each year. If you’re a fan of motorsports, then be sure to check out the Pocono Speedway.

What Is The Pocono Speedway?

The Pocono Speedway is a racetrack located in the Poconos of Pennsylvania. It is one of the only tracks nicknamed the “Tricky Triangle” because it has three different turns, each with its own name and personality, making this a demanding course for drivers to navigate.

Turn one, for example, features 14° banking and is modeled after Trenton Speedway. Turn two, also known as the “Tunnel Turn,” features 8° banking and is modeled after Indianapolis Motor Speedway. And turn three features 6° banking and is modeled after the Milwaukee Mile. As a result, Pocono Raceway offers drivers a variety of challenges that they won’t find anywhere else. And that’s why it remains one of the most popular tracks on the circuit.

Visiting the Pocono Speedway

Before visiting the Pocono Speedway, check the events schedule to see when races are taking place. Races are typically held on weekends, so plan accordingly. Once you know when the races are taking place, you can purchase tickets in advance or at the gate. If you’re planning to visit the track on a non-race day, be sure to check the schedule of events to see when tours are taking place to ensure that you don’t miss out.

Tours are available Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m and typically last about an hour and a half, providing visitors with a behind-the-scenes look at the track.

Nascar even offers a driving school experience where you can get behind the wheel of a real stock car and race around the track. The experience typically lasts about four hours and is available on select days throughout the year. There are multiple programs to choose from depending on what you’re interested in, whether that’s driving around the track at 80 miles per hour or taking a 3-lap shotgun ride around the track with a professional driver.
