Come Meet the Animals at Claws n’ Paws: A Visit to the Pocono Zoo-in-the-Woods!
The Claws n’ Paws is located in the town of Lake Ariel and rightfully nicknamed Pocono’s “zoo-in-the-woods”. The zoo offers a petting area that is home to goats, deer, chickens, turtles, giraffes and more. You can even get up close and personal with alligators, lions, black bears, monkeys and camels. Whether you’re an animal lover or simply after some family fun time outdoors – Claws n Paws has you covered on your next vacation.
The Petting Area
The petting area within the zoo is wonderful for kids! This is actually a very unique experience because you can actually pet wild species like giraffes. Also, the kids can walk around and pet farm animals, deer, turtles, and even hold species of exotic birds.
Dino Dig
If your kids are dinosaur enthusiasts then the Dino Dig is an activity that they won’t want to miss. At this amazing exhibit, children have the chance to act like actual mini-paleontologists, as they use paints brushes and chisels to carefully uncover dinosaur bones entombed in a plaster block. Not only is it a fascinating history lesson, but it’s also plenty of fun as they search for bits and pieces of ancient life hidden in the block! Kids love getting their hands dirty, feeling like one of the professionals running wild with their imaginations.
